Photo Exhibit Guidelines for 2023-2024

GVR offers the Photo Club an opportunity to display our member’s photographs at the Photo Club and in several of the GVR centers. If you would like to show your work, please review the following information.

• Photo size: 8”x11” (minimum) to 17”x22” (maximum)
• Frames may be wood, metal, canvas or foam core backing. The frame colors may be black, silver or pewter (no garish frames).
• Each framed picture needs to be wired for hanging...fasten about 3” or 4” from the top...keep wire fairly tight/straight...don’t loop it. Foam core can use a ribbon string.

          

• No glass (per GVR). Clear Plexi-glass acceptable.
• Photos cannot contain lewd or suggestive images/ titles and no discriminatory themes or subjects.
• The exhibit committee shall have final judgement as to what submissions will or will not be acceptable. Members will be contacted if a photo is rejected.
• We cannot accept responsibility for damage or loss to your photo submissions.
• Each submission needs to have the name of the photo, your name and phone number on the back of the photo.

When you have your photo ready for display bring it to the Club. The on-duty monitor will store the photo until the Exhibit Committee can get it placed. You will be notified where your photo is being displayed. The Committee will also retrieve the photos after the display period is over and notify you when you can pick up your photo. Photos that are not picked up within 6 months will be considered ‘abandoned’ and offered to charity or for donation.
