We have big news this month! First, thanks to all who have contributed to the GVR Camera Club during the four years I have been president. It's time for me to attend to other innterests, and focus more on teaching and producing for the Club. The presidency contributed in many ways to my personal growth, resulting in many friendships I treasure, and allowed me to make contributions to the group that were fun and meaningful to me. I look forward to supporting my successor in whatever way he or she deems helpful. I do expect to be in Green Valley much less next year, but certainly will be available by phone or e-mail. John Pilger, my assistant, likewise offers help.
Vice Presidents Linda Gregory and Philip Rock will be continuing as Vice Presidents..as always, well done and essential roles supporting the president.
Blaine Nisson, our Director and GVR Liaison, also needs to step away, and will not be running for the CC Board this year. Thanks to Blaine, my job ran more smoothly and happily. Our Nomination Committee of Blaine Nelson and John Pilger will secure candidates for the April election. As usula, nominations from the floor are welcome.
Also up for re-election are John Yeager, Membership Director, Mort Spencer,m Co-Director of Exhibits, Kevin Hannah, Treasurer, and Bob Patterson, Co-Director of Membership. Those with a second year to fill are: Patty Ferguson (Positions Director), Linda Gregory (Summer VP and Productions Director), Stephen Herron (Secretary), Gene Komaromi (Education Director), Jerry Marrion (Publicity/Exhibits Director), and Phil Rock (Digital Equipment and Wild Apricot Director)
I wish to extend my thanks to the entire Camera Club Board. You have truly been a joy to work with and a source of learning, camaraderie, and belonging throughout my four years as president. I hope to continue working in other capacities to keep the GVR CC such a positive presence in our community.
Members, please remember to chck Wild Apricot and your e-mail for Camera Club Activities. Our past volunteers will receive an appreciation luncheon invitation. All members are invited to the annual Club Social (March 20). You may join in several more classes, SIG's, and Field Trips. March 17 is our Travelogue, and MArch 26 our Speaker Series, open to all GVR members. Our last Speaker Series and Annual Elections of Board of Directors will be April 16, 2020
Happy trails, Holly Chorba GVRCC President
