December Travelogue - Free to GVR Members
Sam Schaen and Marilyn Gaizband joined a photo tour in Cuba in March 2017. Our group totaled 8 people including a photo tour leader, a Cuban guide, and a driver. Cuba is a country of contrasts. It was common to see a young woman in stylish western fashion speaking on a cell phone next to a horse-drawn buggy. There was also a stark contrast between large cities such as Havana and rural areas of the country. The slideshow is organized by subject: landscapes, architecture, people, and transportation. The last category includes those famous 1950s era American cars in impeccable condition.
Paul McCreary will present a short travelogue about beautiful Ouray, Colorado and surrounding in many seasons.
Shown will be mountains, ice climbing, and an old time Fourth of July Parade with water fights. Ouray is a unique and lovely place.
Lenore Bell will present a tour of LaConner, Rosario, Orcas Islands, Friday Harbor, and Seattle Washington. A cool, and relaxing trip through some of Washington State’s most scenic islands with beautiful waterscapes and sea life. Later we traveled to Seattle where we visited Chihuly Gardens, the Flight Museum, Highway 99 Blues Club, and the scenic views of Seattle.
SCOTLAND- Wally Watson
It started as a golf trip to Scotland for four good friends.
We did play eight rounds of golf including: St Andrews both Old and New courses plus Royal Dornoch, my favorite!!
However, most of the pictures highlight the beautiful green country side and cities like Edinburgh and Inverness…
Then Old Castles, plus one, used in the TV series “Outlander”
Also, the Battle Field at Culloden, where the British wiped out the Scots and I lost four ancestors (2 Watson’s & 2 Seaton’s).
