Star Trails Photography 2/12/2024

Star Trails are an easy and fun way to do astrophotography when the Milky Way is not yet out and visible. All you need is a camera with manual settings and a good tripod. You are welcome to try your phone cameras also. It will be interesting to see what they can do.
We will be going to the Proctor Trailhead, which is the parking lot at the entrance to Madera Canyon to photograph star trails over the Santa Rita Mountains.
Sunset is at 6:05 PM, and we can start imaging at 8 PM.
Cliff DeJong, our leader for this trip, will send out an email to all registered members a week prior to the field trip, with camera settings and other tips. The photo above was taken in April of last year. Cliff will also circulate through the participants at the photo shoot to answer questions and assist with settings.
GVR requires that every person participating in the club's field trips must sign a one-waiver absolving GVR of any liability prior to being allowed to participate. The Waiver of Liability Form is available at the Club if you haven't already signed one.
There is no cost for this event.
If it is necessary to reschedule due to cloud cover, the trip will be moved to the 13th.
Please note: We are asking all who would like to attend to be sure to sign up so you will go on the waitlist even though you won't be able to go on this trip if it is full. This will allow us plan future trips.

NOTICE:
All participants need to be responsible for an assessment of their mobility and health issues relating to field trips. Some trips may not be appropriate, but you must make that determination. However, the trip leader may deny participation in a specific field trip to anyone deemed not suitably prepared or able to walk with the group.
The club strives to provide several field trips specifically designed for members with physical limitations.
In order to participate in this event, you must be a member of the GVR Photography Club, GVR, and have signed a GVR Waiver of Liability.
The GVR Photography Club is located in the Recreation Village of Santa Rita Springs.
