The 44th Fort Lowell Day/La Reunión de El Fuerte is scheduled for Saturday, March 8, 2025, from 10 am to 4 pm. This complimentary event will take place at Fort Lowell Park, located at 2900 N. Craycroft Rd. Fort Lowell Day commemorates the Fort Lowell Neighborhood, its history, and the encompassing area's heritage. Activities will include live music, cavalry drills, living history enactments, guided tours of Fort Lowell Park, and various food trucks. Additionally, the event will feature an 1860s vintage baseball game at Fort Lowell Park.
For those who may want to enjoy the Museum, there is a small fee for admission. The Fort Lowell Museum tells the story of this significant region situated at the confluence of Tanque Verde Creek and Pantano Wash, along with the diverse communities that have resided here.
Fort Lowell served as a United States Army post from 1873 to 1891. The museum displays provide insights into the fort's purpose and history, as well as the daily lives of soldiers and their families. They also cover the broader narrative of the Apache people in the region and the adversities they faced during the Apache wars. Furthermore, the museum includes exhibits on the prehistoric era of the area, featuring information about the nearby Hohokam site. For more information on the museum, click here.
