IMPORTANT NOTE: You must sign up no later than February 1st so we can finalize the reservation. We also need at least 12 people who are not Tucson Botanical Gardens members to sign up by then or we may have to cancel this trip.
Tucson Botanical Gardens (TBG) is an impressive collection of 20 urban gardens that span a little over 5 acres in the heart of Tucson. TBG was selected #4 in USA Today’s 10 Best Botanical Gardens Readers’ Choice Awards for 2025. Gardens include the Cactus & Succulent Garden, Barrio Garden, Children’s Garden, Herb Garden and many more that showcase the diversity of plants that can thrive in the Sonoran Desert. Tropical butterflies from around the world are featured in the Cox Butterfly & Orchid Pavilion from October through May. TBG offers rotating art displays, community classes, events and international exhibits.

We’ll meet at the Photography Club upper-level parking lot at 7:30 AM for carpooling, departure at 8:00 AM. Wear comfortable shoes for walking, sunscreen, a hat if needed, and bring water to drink. Please wear your GVR Photography Club or Camera Club badge if you have one. For those carpooling, $5.00 is an appropriate contribution to the driver.
We will park at the Botanical Gardens and gather at the entry pavilion. There we’ll be met by a docent who with take us on a 30–45-minute guided tour. Following the guided tour, you're welcome to explore the gardens’ many exhibits. Please note that tripods are not allowed in the butterfly exhibit. We’ll wrap up our tour of the gardens around noon.
Following the tour, participants are invited to a no-host lunch at the Blue Willow Restaurant located at 2616 North Campbell Avenue in Tucson, where the trip will end about 2:00 PM.

GVR requires that every person participating in Photography Club Field Trips must sign a waiver prior to departure absolving GVR of any liability. You may sign the waiver any time at the Club or the morning of the field trip.
NOTICE:
Last date to cancel for a refund is March 6, 2026.
All participants need to be responsible for an assessment of their mobility and health issues relating to field trips. Some trips may not be appropriate, but you must make that determination. However, the trip leader may deny participation in a specific field trip to anyone deemed not suitably prepared or able to walk with the group.
In order to participate in this event, you must be a member of the GVR Photography Club and GVR.
