The Art of Slow Photography

We’re rediscovering the basics of film photography.

This class emphasizes stepping back from instant digital gratification to focus on deliberate, thoughtful image-making.

Topics include film choice, loading, camera settings, shooting techniques (shadows, highlights, ISO), prime lens skills, overcoming sharpness limitations, shooting limited shots, using filters, minimal editing, development (who to send or do it yourself), scanning, printing/enlarging, and where to send prints or create zines.

We’ll compare film and digital images to determine their strengths and weaknesses.
