Don DuDeVoire, Flower Photography

Don has been taking photographs for more than sixty years, and flower photography for more than twenty-five years.  A club member since 2000, he was a faculty member of the original “Ten Week Photography Course”.  He has continued to teach a variety of topics ever since.  He started taking flower images after seeing photographs by Canadian photographer Freeman Patterson.  “After seeing his book I bought an orchid at a supermarket, stuck it in a vase, and started shooting film, and I haven’t stopped”.  Don has taken flower photographs from the shores of Cape Cod to the deserts of California, and a lot of states in between.  Don’s advice for getting good flower images is to never stop looking, and avoid strong winds.
