Oasis Sanctuary (Exotic Bird Rescue) Cascabel AZ

The Oasis Sanctuary is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit aviary welfare organization. Established in 1997, the Oasis Sanctuary is a unique avian rescue and life-care facility, dedicated to providing permanent care, shelter and rehabilitation for companion parrots for which other re-homing options do not exist. In particular we are a refuge for exotic birds such as parrots, cockatoos, macaws and other Psittacine birds. 

Camera Club members will be given a 2 hour tour by the Executive Director. There are 7 enclosures where the birds are not caged, so we will have some great photo opportunities.

Special note from Oasis: Make sure you have gas and good tires including a good spare before you set out. The Oasis is in a very remote, rural location. We are easy to find, however. The Oasis Sanctuary is located approximately 25 miles north of Benson, AZ.

Note: Cell phones stop working shortly outside Pomerene. Call the Sanctuary at 520-212-4737 when you get off the freeway to let us know where you are and so we will know approximately when to expect you. Leave the time of your call, if we are momentarily away from the phone. The freeway exit is approximately 40 minutes from the Sanctuary.

Meet at the Camera Club at 9:45 AM, and depart at 10 AM. We will have lunch at the Horseshoe Cafe in Benson from 11-12. The tour is 1-3.
