Living History Day at the Presidio San Agustin

The Presidio’s Living History program brings life inside the walls of the Presidio.  Volunteer re-enactors provide a glimpse of what life truly was like back when the Santa Cruz river flowed, a myriad of cultures were impacting each other, and the Old Pueblo was just beginning.

Visitors to the Presidio San Agustín see soldiers at drill, blacksmiths, candle-makers, merchants and weavers.  These volunteers interact with the public to demonstrate and teach about the challenges of daily life when there were no cell phones and no running water.  Every hour, the cannon will fire!  

The Docent starts the day with a 45 minute tour of the Presidio.  Lunch follows the tour at the La Cocina Restaurant located across the street from the Presidio.  

A parking lot is located next to the Presidio for $5.00 a day but you will need a credit card to purchase a parking ticket.

For those carpooling, $5.00 is  an appropriate contribution  to the driver for gas and parking.
