Susan Hill: 'Scandalous' Victorian Photography

The Speaker on April 16, 2020 will be Susan Hill, who did a great presentation to us this past January. Susan is not a photographer herself but has tremendous admiration for the creativity and patience of those who are and for the beauty of artful photography.

Her presentation this spring will be Julia Margaret Cameron: 'Scandalous' Victorian Photography. Julia Margaret was an early woman photographer who pioneered the technique of soft focus, invoking much criticism from fellow photographers. She often combined romanticism and realism in her work and also photographed lightly-clad children. She considered her work high art - do you?
