Birding/Nature: Green Valley Waste Treatment Plant/Quail Creek Dog Park 11/5/2024

Cost: Free but you must register to attend

This is a new area for me, but I understand there is an abundance of various birds there. Just sighted was a juvenile osprey and a peregrine falcon along with water birds.

If you have binoculars, you may want to bring them along. A small notebook and pen or pencil would be useful to record your sightings.

Be sure to wear comfortable clothes and shoes. A hat and water are suggested. We will be dining after at Posada Java for those who would like to join us.

Meet at the Photography Club at 8 AM for carpooling. If you wish to carpool, $4.00 is an appropriate amount for the driver for gas.

We will meet at the Photography Club parking lot at 8:00 for an 8:15 departure. Mike McMinn will lead the group, with our birding and nature guide, Sandy McMahan.

GVR requires that every person participating in Photography Club Field Trips must sign a one-time waiver absolving GVR of any liability. You may sign the waiver at the Photography Club or the morning of the trip, if you have not completed one already.

Mike McMinn will be our leader. If you must cancel the morning of the trip, please call or text Mike so we won't be waiting for you. If you have any questions about this trip, call Mike at 810-516-0220 or email at mikefore@comcast.net.

If you need to cancel, please contact Lynn Rozema, Field Trip Coordinator at lrozema51@gmail.com. We may have people on the wait list to take your place.

NOTICE:

All participants need to be responsible for an assessment of their mobility and health issues relating to field trips. Some trips may not be appropriate, but you must make that determination. However, the trip leader may deny participation in a specific field trip to anyone deemed not suitably prepared or able to walk with the group.

The club strives to provide several field trips specifically designed for members with physical limitations.

In order to participate in this event, you must be a member of the GVR Photography Club and GVR.
